Legends of Callasia is now on Early Access on Steam!

FacebookTwitterGoogle+Share

We’re happy to announce that Legends of Callasia is now available for PC on Steam as an Early Access! Thanks again to everyone who voted during our Greenlight campaign.

This also means that our open beta has officially ended, and you will no longer be able to play the builds downloaded from our website. Unfortunately, Mac and Linux builds are not yet ready for Early Access, but we’ll keep everyone posted on the development – we expect them to be available soon. Additionally, as iOS and Android are unavailable through Steam, these builds will also be unavailable for a while.

So what’s in store for you during the Early Access?

Legends of Callasia can be downloaded for free with new single player campaigns that were previously not available during the open beta. We’ll continue to add new levels as we progress through early access and eventually complete it for final release. Skirmish and Multiplayer modes are also available in the free version – additional races, heroes, and maps can be unlocked by purchasing the game (click Buy Now on the main menu) at a limited-time early-access only price of $15.99 USD. More content will be added as we release new updates, and you’ll have access to the full game on its final release. The retail price of the game for full release will be $19.99 USD.

As always, keep sending in your feedback! Thanks again for your continued support and we hope to see you in the multiplayer lobby!

Next steps for Legends of Callasia

Our Kickstarter has just ended. It may have been unsuccessful, but we still got Greenlit and the development of the game continues. We’re now preparing for our Steam release, and hopefully we can do an Early Access.

Thank you to everyone who pledged and supported us! We’ll keep you all updated. Meanwhile, please join our Steam group: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/legendsofcallasia

See you again soon!

Kickstarter ending soon + Reddit AMA on Jan 12 7PM EST

Hey guys!

Since we launched our Kickstarter project last December 14, we managed to reach over $5,000 worth of pledges for Legends of Callasia. It’s better than our previous campaign, but with less than 2 days, it seems unlikely that we’ll reach our $25,000 funding goal. We sincerely thank you all for checking out the beta and supporting this game. It’s a shame Kickstarter didn’t seem to be a great venue for funding it – but we learned a great deal, and had fun.

On the bright side, we got Greenlit in just two weeks, and now working on our Steam submissions. Hopefully we can do an Early Access, and we wish to see you all in the multiplayer lobby when the game officially releases.

We sincerely appreciate all the feedback and we’ve been thrilled to meet our players! We also learned a lot – and I would be glad to share my opinions on this.

I will be doing an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit on January 12 (Tuesday) 7PM EST. Link will be posted on the Legends of Callasia pages when it’s live:

Meanwhile, thanks again to all the press, youtubers, twitch streamers who have been helping out on spreading the word and sharing their experiences online:

We’ll continue to keep you posted on game updates – this won’t be the last you’ll see of Legends of Callasia.

Cheers,

Greenlight and New Platform Plans

After a couple of weeks, Legends of Callasia has been successfully greenlit by the community – with over 50% of all responses being a “Yes, I will buy this game on Steam!”. Thank you for all the votes! Now with the Greenlight Campaign successful we hope to use this to power our Kickstarter Campaign, which still has 9 days to go! We hope you can support us!

With the feedback that we have been getting from the people who have picked up the PC/iOS pre-beta, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. More people have also been checking out the game and posting their gameplay videos:

The plan for Legends of Callasia is PC/Mac/iOS/Android, with full multi-platform multiplayer, and a persistent account between the various platforms. We’ve gotten OSX and Android set up over the holidays and will be releasing them soon in a new beta update once QA digs into them a little. And, because the community has shown an interest in it, we’re also working on a Linux version to be released later.

Please keep your comments and suggestions coming, and hope you’ll continue to share our project to your friends! Again thank you to everyone who has been supporting Legends of Callasia!

Press Release: Legends of Callasia on Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight

[PRESS RELEASE]

Legends of Callasia is back on Kickstarter and goes to Steam Greenlight!

Join the BETA of this cross-platform world conquest multiplayer title inspired by board games and epic strategy video games

December 14, 2015 – Southeast Asian virtual game studio Boomzap Entertainment launches its Kickstarter campaign for Legends of Callasia, a cross-platform fantasy world conquest game with board game-style mechanics and no hotseat waiting. Beta access is open to all as part of the Kickstarter, and a Greenlight campaign on Steam is also ongoing.

Legends of Callasia (formerly known as Legends of Fire & Steel) is a simultaneous turn-based single and multiplayer fantasy world conquest strategy game with no hotseat waiting. Choose from a wide range of heroes from three factions – The Hundred Kingdoms, The Faeborne, and The Revenant – and conquer lands through single player campaigns, or battle against friends through online multiplayer in board game-style maps. Use bonus cards against your enemies or boost your armies and rule the world!

Features:

  • Classic fantasy world conquest strategy game with simple, intuitive controls
  • Endless strategies through wide range of heroes, units, maps, and more
  • Auto-resolve battle mode with two attack phases: missile and melee
  • Single player campaigns: follow the war of the factions across the lands
  • Turn-based multiplayer game with simultaneous plan and resolution cycle: ranked and casual play, friend finder, rankings, leaderboards, and no hotseat waiting
  • Pay once and play: no free to play, no ads, no pay to win

The game is designed to be playable on PC, Mac, iPad, and Android tablets. Boomzap co-founder and Creative Director Chris Natsuume says, “Our hope is to make a mid-core casual game that captures some of the fun of more epic strategy games like Civilization, Crusader Kings, or Heroes of Might and Magic, but in a much smaller, more digestible, 1 hour play session.”

Known for casual games, Boomzap is now making its entry to the strategy games market and is hoping to build a multiplayer community on Steam. Funding through Kickstarter would also help in completing development of the game, set to release in early 2016.

Make Legends of Callasia a reality by backing their project on Kickstarter and rating the game on Steam Greenlight. The team is asking for support in spreading the news in order to reach their funding goal of $25,000USD. Pledges start at $1USD, and rewards such as early release copies, digital artbooks, and customized in-game content are available to the backers.

For more details about the game, visit their website and like their official Facebook page.
