Boomzap launches Kickstarter campaign for Legends of Callasia expansion [Press Release]

A new Dwarf faction called the Stoneborne is currently in development with new heroes, campaigns, underground maps, and more!

July 21, 2016, Singapore – After launching fantasy-themed strategy game Legends of Callasia on Steam last month, Southeast Asian game studio Boomzap Entertainment returns to Kickstarter for the crowdfunding of a new expansion pack, which introduces a new playable faction, the Stoneborne, also known as Dwarves.

Legends of Callasia is a world conquest game inspired by classic turn-based strategy games like Civilization, Heroes of Might & Magic, and Risk. Players control heroes from their chosen faction, occupy territories, and control kingdoms in a tabletop-style map with bonus cards that may alter the course of battle. Its original simultaneous gameplay mechanic keeps games moving quickly, even in multiplayer mode while adding deep strategy elements.

Named Legends of Callasia: The Stoneborne, the expansion will include content based on players’ feedback: new heroes, cards, maps, and campaigns for the formerly non-playable faction, the Dwarves. The story of Stoneborne will follow their journey underground and their encounters with a new enemy, the Cavespawn.

By supporting the Kickstarter campaign, backers can pre-order copies of the main game and the expansion pack as well as have their names included in the game as heroes, territories, and kingdoms.

Boomzap has set a funding goal of $2,500 USD, and pledges start at $5. Those interested may download a free demo to the main game, which already includes a glimpse of some of the Dwarven heroes in campaign mode. Legends of Callasia is available for $24.99 USD on Steam, and will be coming soon to iPad and Android tablets. More details available at legends.boomzap.com. Summer Sale – Legends of Callasia at 40% off! (New Patch v1.0.1.8)

Save 40% on Legends of Callasia as part of Steam’s Summer Sale! Offer ends July 4th, 10AM Pacific Time.

The full game is now in the Premium section on Steam as a DLC, which means you can now also gift copies of the game for your friends. We initially launched as Free to Play, with a single optional unlock payment to play across all platforms (Steam, as well as the upcoming Mobile platforms). Feedback from our users indicate that while people love the game, many are confused/troubled by its inclusion in the Free to Play store. We’ve heard our users and spent the last few weeks rewriting our user management system (no need to register emails anymore) and moving over the game to the right category.

For players who have already purchased the game through the Free to Play store, your account with the game is still completely valid, and your game should work fine. However, since it was unlocked as a Free to Play game, it may still be listed in your Steam library as a “demo” – which we realize may trouble some people. As such, we’re also sending a Steam Key to everyone who bought the game. Using that will change your game to “Premium” listing in your library. :)

As always, you can install the game here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/438920

Today’s patch also includes the following changes:

  • Adjusted AI behavior for Hundred Kingdoms 10 and Faeborne 1 campaigns
  • Updated portrait for Peasant Revolt hero

Thank you and hope you enjoy!
